Privacy
This site is a few static pages and some browser tools. There are no accounts and no mailing list. The one form that keeps anything is the Google listing check on the Review Machine pages. Here is the whole picture.
What this site collects
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It is on every page of this site except two browser tools, the diff checker and the terminal text cleaner, which load no analytics. It records the page you viewed, roughly when, the referring link, your approximate location by country or region, and your device and browser type.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another. These are first-party cookies, they carry a random identifier, and they are not tied to your name. Per Google's documentation, Analytics does not store your full IP address: it is used to derive a coarse location and is then discarded.
We look at this in aggregate. We may advertise on Google Ads. When you arrive from one of our ads, the link carries a click identifier (gclid, gbraid or wbraid), and a link may also carry campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term). Your browser keeps the latest of these in its local storage for up to 90 days, so a check you run on a later visit is still linked to the ad or page that brought you; clearing your browser data removes them. We store them only if you run the listing check or ask for a plan, as described below. We do not run advertising or remarketing tags on this site, we do not send these identifiers back to Google, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone.
Booking a call
The booking widget on our product pages is Cal.com, a third party. When you open it and book a slot, the details you enter go to Cal.com, and we see the resulting booking. If you open it from the plan form, we fill in your name and email for you and pass your industry and the campaign tags that brought you. Their handling of that data is covered by their own policy at cal.com/privacy. If you would rather not use it, email us instead.
Videos
The films on our product pages play from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When the player loads, as you scroll to it, YouTube receives your IP address and browser details, and once you press play it may store data in your browser. Google's policy covers that, at policies.google.com/privacy. We send one Analytics event when a film starts playing and one when you pick a chapter.
The Google listing check and plan requests
The Review Machine pages have a form that compares your Google review count with the three most-reviewed listings of the same type within 5 km. When you run it, we collect the business name and city you type, your email address, the Google place ID of the business we find, the page you used it on, how you reached the site (the campaign tags and ad click identifier described above, the site that referred you, the first page you landed on, and the Analytics client ID of your browser), and a hashed form of your IP address. The hash only limits how many checks one connection can run in a day; the address itself is not kept.
After the result, you can ask for a campaign plan. If you do, we also collect your name, your answers (how many Google locations you have, roughly how many past customers are on your records, what those records hold, and on the product page your industry) and your phone number if you add one. We use these only to reply to that request. If you add a phone number, we call it only about this request, dialing by hand, and we never send texts to it.
We use these details to show you the result and to follow up with you about your listing. There is no newsletter, and one reply asking us to stop is enough. We keep them for 12 months, or less if you ask: write to we@fractalic.studio and we delete every check and plan request made with your email address.
To find the listing, the business name and city are sent to Google. The review counts, names and addresses in the result come live from Google Maps each time you run a check: we show them to you and do not store them. Only the place ID is saved. The details are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and the notes about your check and your plan request reach our inbox through our email provider. Analytics records that a check or a plan request happened and on which page, never what you typed.
Email you send us
Mail you send to us stays in our mailbox and is used to reply to you and to keep track of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your address to anyone else.
The browser tools
The tools on this site, including the diff checker and the terminal text cleaner, run entirely in your browser. Whatever you paste or open in them is processed on your own machine and never reaches us. The GEO and SEO wizard keeps your progress in your browser's local storage so you can come back to it, which also stays on your machine and is cleared when you clear your browser data.
If you are a Review Machine client
Review Machine is a hosted service we run for business clients, and it handles their own customer data. That data is governed by the contract with the client, not by this page. If you received a review invitation and want to know who holds your details, it is the business that sent it. The product page has more on how the service works, including its FAQ.
