Local Express: sales prep built into HubSpot

Local Express builds the online store and commerce platform for independent grocery stores. Its sales team talks to many store owners, and every call needs preparation. We built that preparation into HubSpot, where the reps already work.

Two buttons in HubSpot

Deal brief and a 13 to 15 slide demo deck

  • On a company: a research brief before the first contact. Who the store is, who to talk to, a likely pain, an opening line and questions for discovery.
  • On a deal: a deal brief and a demo deck of 13 to 15 slides, picked from the company's 60-slide master and personalized to the store, with ROI estimated from the store's revenue.

What goes into a brief

  • What HubSpot already knows: the company, its contacts, the deal stage, notes and calls.
  • Public information about the store from Google and Yelp.
  • The store's own website.

What the sales team controls

  • The instructions behind every brief, with version history and one-click rollback.
  • Which AI model writes each kind of brief.
  • A chat that answers questions about Local Express's own product and cites its sources.
  • Short notes the system uses from the next brief on, without a release.

Compound on the Local Express blog

We also turned articles from the Local Express blog into Compound packages: a narrated video, a vertical cut, infographics and copy for social platforms.

What stays private: Local Express's customers, its deals and its internal numbers. This page describes the system, not their data.
